The Leon Charney Resolution Center library will be named after Dr. Reuven Pedatzur. The Library will hold Dr. Pedatzur's collection of books and articles.
A private Opening Ceremony will be held at the Charney Resolution Center.
Dr. Reuven Pedatzur (1948-2014) , a reserve combat pilot, was one of Israel’s top military analysts. He started working for Haaretz in the 1980s as a military reporter. Throughout the years he wrote many analyses and opinion pieces on military and defense, often taking a critical stance toward the subject matter. He also hosted Retzuat Habitachon, a radio program on the IDF Radio, and was a captain for the Israeli airline Arkia.
In addition to his journalistic career, Pedatzur was a senior lecturer at the Netanya Academic College & the director of S.Daniel Abraham Center for Strategic Dialogue at the Netanya Academic College. His Ph. D. thesis, presented in 1992 to the Tel Aviv University's Political Science Department, was titled "The Influence of 'Decision Kitchens' on National Security Decision Making: The Eshkol Government and the Territories, 1967–1969.” In 1996 it was published as a book titled "The Triumph Of Embarrassment".
Reuven Pedatzur was tragically killed on 14.4.2014 in a traffic accident on his way back from Passover dinner.
