Professor Nati Laor, Psychiatrist and Director of the Tel Aviv Community Mental Health Center, will return to the Charney Resolution Center to share his expertise and introduce Danny Hamiel, Ph. D.
Danny Hamiel, Ph.D. is the Director of the Educational Intervention Unit of the Cohen Harris Resilience Center and the Head of the Cognitive-Behavioral Unit at the Tel Aviv Community Mental Health Center, as well as a senior lecturer at the Ivchar School of Psychology, IDC Center Herzliya. Dr. Hamiel will present at the Charney Resolution Center alongside Professor Laor.
Dr. Hamiel will discuss a process known as 'emotional immunization', which was created to help students cope better with re-occuring daily stressors such as academic stress, social stress, and other youth related pressures. Emotional immunization is also effective for helping students cope later on in life as they encounter more challenging, even traumatic, situations. He will discuss this technique, as well as teach physiological, cognitive, and emotional tools that are part of a broader resiliency program for combatting stress in order to help students increase their individual and group resilience.
