On March 28, Florida Atlantic University expand their existing Diplomacy Program within its Peace Justice and Human Rights Initiative to create the Leon Charney Diplomacy Program. The program creates three Leon Charney Scholarships each fall and spring semester, as well as to create an Undergraduate Honors Delegation of students that will be trained to compete in diplomatic competitions in Washington, D.C. each fall. 


The NYU Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology paid tribute to Leon's numerous contributions to his namesake's division.
