On 19 May 2017, two hundred Israeli & Palestinian women convened in Tel Aviv to negotiate solutions to the conflict. Having been the first time only women participated in a public negotiating process, this was a rare and powerful event in the Middle East.

The participants, guided by expert facilitator Sapir Handelman of أفكار السلام מחשבות של שלום-אזרחים עושים שלום Minds of Peace, discussed and negotiated creative ideas to resolve difficult problems. They succeeded in reaching agreements on necessary, practical measures for peace and stability.

The Congress of the Women demonstrated the peacemaking power of Israeli and Palestinian women, and the importance of involving women in any negotiating process.
