In the midst of this global pandemic, while it is essential not to underestimate the gravity of this crisis, it is also important to try to keep a positive attitude. Raffaele Morelli, an Italian psychologist, analyzed some positive aspects of Covid-19, saying that “We wear masks, but the Earth is breathing”. In Italy, following the national lockdown, the level of air pollution significantly decreased, as seen in the diagram below.

April 3rd, 2020 was the last day of the Australian TV team’s coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of the Congress of the People (a collaboration between Mind of Peace and the Charney Resolution Center). It was supposed to be the Congress’ first year anniversary meeting. The Congress simulation was meant to take place at CRC in Hakfar Hayarok but unfortunately due to the pandemic it was cancelled. We know it’s a bit surreal to be returning to the conflict after the silence that this pandemic has forced on us but nevertheless, the conflict still remains an unsolved issue.

I would like to extend a sudden but earned congratulations to all of the graduates. I know that this isn’t how you expected to finish your time here. Usually, graduation is a time filled with mixed emotions of both excitement and uncertain anticipation of what comes next, but I hope through all of what you may be feeling right now you know that you are part of a historical moment in time that will change the world. As scary as all that sounds, I am confident that you will find the opportunity to lead the charge into a new phase of society.
