Opening a New School Year!
On Tuesday, August 29, The Charney Center opened a new school year at EMIS, welcoming a beautiful new class of students from all over the world!
Tzili Charney introduced the Charney Center to the new students, screened the film Backroom Channels, and handed out signature Charney Center 'Spy for Peace' and 'The Leon Charney Report' t-shirts.
We are thrilled to embark upon a new year with a diverse class of fresh faces and returning students from last year, and look forward handing these students the torch of Leon Charney's legacy of peace and conflict resolution!

Today, around 60 teenagers participated in the first day of the Juvenile Peace Congress at the Charney Resolution Center.
In the middle of their summer vacation, these intrepid Israeli and Palestinian teens came to the Charney Resolution Center to participate in peaceful negotiations and to come up with working agreements. This first day was dedicated to building trust amongst the youth, as well as to introducing the peace resolution discussions that will take place over the next week.

In her talk, Hannah focused on being connected to ourselves and how beneficial this is in creating the inner peace that will lead to peace with those around us.

Philanthropist and activist Tzili Charney was awarded an honorary degree in recognition of her generosity to the University. President Joel praised Charney for her “love, loyalty, vigor, sophistication and unyielding Jewish pride.”
Quoting her husband, Charney told graduates to “examine the options you have available to you. Maintain an awareness of this. Make proper choices and bring about changes in your life while, at the same time, continuing to make the world a better place.”

While the EMIS students graduate in Israel, at the same time, Tzili Charney receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Yeshiva University in New York. Congrats all!
