Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Sofia Arthurs-Schoppe and I am a 19 year old student from New Zealand currently studying at an international school in Israel (the Eastern Mediterranean International School, which has been founded on the principles of peace and sustainability. I am also the co-founder of Voices for the World, a global platform dedicated to bringing social change and advocating for the prevalence of humanity over injustice. You can see more about this project here: https://www.facebook.com/Voices-for-the-World-1502287013401404/
Today I am contacting you to ask for your support and involvement in a campaign myself and three friends are about to launch. This campaign is titled The Life Jacket Project and it will be dedicated towards helping Syrian refugees.
This project was originally inspired by a recent piece of protest art created by Ai Weiwei in Berlin (this sculpture is explained here: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/02/ai-weiwei-covers-berlin-venue-14000-life-jackets-160213190435403.html ).
A fundraising campaign will be established detailing the project, providing insight into the refugee crisis and enabling monetary donations.
A short film and the fundraising campaign will be shared worldwide and others will be invited to participate.
Funds raised will be used to purchase necessities for Syrian refugees located in at holding camps in Jordan. Within Jordan there are numerous refugee camps and many of these are poorly equipped, resulting in gross mistreatment for the thousands of refugees fleeing their own war-torn countries.
After raising a suitable amount of funds, representatives, who are organizing this campaign, will travel to Jordan and hand deliver the supplies to the refugees- ensuring that all funds will go immediately towards the cause without any intermediaries.
We appreciate donations of food, medical supplies, sanitary equipment, monetary donations and life jackets.

Drum Cafe Event
On Friday, January 22, 2016, the Charney Resolution Center kicked off with its first open event. Students and guests let go of their inhibitions and released tension pounding to their own drummer, while learning how to integrate their own beat with the beat of others, showing that when we work together, the sum is greater than its parts. More Info on the event click here.
