Over 200 distinguished guests attended the annual benefit dinner in honor of Mr. Leon Charney's legacy at the Hilton Tel Aviv, where the main topic was analyzing the USA’s Presidential election from a political, media, and gender perspective. Keynote speaker Tzipi Livni, co-head of the Zionist Camp, spoke about the fundamental importance of female leadership, and women’s roles in affecting political change. According to Livni, although she believes that the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, a political compromise is necessary to ensure the future safety and prosperity of Israel. Afterward, a panel chaired by Brigadier General Israela Oron and featuring Dana Weiss, Talley Singer, and Sima Shine discussed the role that “post-truth” played in the US’ presidential election and outlined a vision for developing an honest political atmosphere for the future.

Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congresses
Israelis and Palestinians negotiated solutions to their tragic conflict at two locations in the center of Tel-Aviv: Youth - In the Salon Conference Hall, ZOA House; Adults - In an open public place in front of ZOA House
This was the first time that two public negotiating congresses were conducted simultaneously: Youth and Adults.
Apparently, it turned out that it was much easier for the young generation to reach agreements on certain important topics. Israelis concluded that the youth is more creative than the adults, while Palestinians concluded that the youth is naïve and the adults are more experienced. The different interpretations demonstrated the cultural gap between the two societies.
The two sides agreed that the event is another important step towards the establishment of a major Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress with political influence. This major peacemaking institution is designed to involve people, from all walks of life, in the peacemaking efforts and motivate the leaderships to conclude agreements.
"This momentum must continue and grow"
